Diane Parry, among the most promising French players, is preparing for her big matches on clay.
The Tennis Club of Sète is currently welcoming one of the most promising French players. Diane Parry actually trains on the courts of Mas-Viel, with the coaches of the FFT and her physical trainer Paul Quétin, in order to best prepare for the season on clay and in particular Roland-Garros.
The sensation of Roland-Garros 2022
The 20-year-old Niçoise, currently 108th in the WTA rankings and based in Boulogne-Billancourt, should indeed not lack ambition as the big deadlines approach. Junior world champion in 2019, she especially created a sensation during the 2022 edition of Roland-Garros by eliminating, in the first round, the Czech world n°2 and defending champion Barbora Krejcikova.
Eliminated in the third round, she then rose to the same level at Wimbledon, released by the Tunisian and future finalist Ons Jabeur.
Paris 2024 objective
In addition to the Grand Slam tournaments, Diane Parry is also aiming for the Paris 2024 Games. For this, she must return to a Top 100 where she was in 58th position last October. And this is also one of the reasons for his presence on the courts of Mas-Viel. His trainer Loïc Courteau (who notably took care of Amélie Mauresmo when she was world No. 1) was looking for a traditional ground club, to be able to work under the same conditions as at Roland-Garros. Companion of Séverine Beltrame, he therefore logically turned to a club in the South.
Diane Parry’s visit to Sète will end on Monday. Not without having tasted the “joys” of the singular Island since she will have climbed Mont Saint-Clair by bike, three times in the same day of Sunday…
